Who am I?

Well for starters, my name is Emily. Originally, I am from Colorado where I grew up loving the CSU rams, playing in the pines, and living in the snow. Traveling has always been a passion of mine, it was just a matter for when the travel bug would bite me. When I was a sophomore in high school, I took a spring break trip to Europe with a group of other high school students. Before going to Europe, I had been to various states in the US and vacation destinations in Mexico but nothing beyond that.  On my high school trip we visited Portugal, Spain, and Morocco which is when the travel bug bit hard. I fell in love with the different cultures, new foods, and even the history of the places we visited. I knew after that trip that I had to go abroad in college.
So now here I am, currently a sophomore at Northern Arizona University getting ready to study abroad in Valencia, Spain. My major is Environmental Sciences with and emphasis in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish. I know a good amount of Spanish from high school and I'm hoping it'll be a big help for living abroad. The only issue; I learned Mexican Spanish, not Spain Spanish. Hopefully I'll come back fluent, but stay tuned to see if I actually do.
I've always been an independent person and I had no problem leaving home for college but now that Spain is a month away I am really questioning if I'm ready. I'm scared out of my mind but excited beyond belief as well. I know I'll miss my friends a bunch and want to call my mom everyday but I can't wait to see what adventures await!
Side note: I've never made a blog so this will be interesting for all parties involved.
